User Reviews

For a “health bar” you think they’d have the nutrition information listed. Am I missing something? Only a few of the Zone Perfect bars sold direct by Amazon have the nutrition info listed, but most of them don’t. What gives?

The only specifics above include the following:

* 40% carbohydrate, 30% protein, and 30% dietary fat

* 14 grams of protein (soy protein)

* dehydrated cane juice and fructose

* Please read all label information on delivery

How many calories? grams of sugar? fiber? And what’s up with “Please read all label information on delivery?” Are you kidding? What ever happened to reading all label info Before delivery! With a little math I calculated the following (of course it’s ridiculous that I had to figure it out for myself, but anyway…):

Each bar has “14g protein” and “30% protein”, so 14g = 30% of total ingredients

Round up 14g to 15g. And 15 x 2 = 30 (percent)

Therefore: divide the other percents by 2 –> = 20g carbs and 15g fat.

15g Fat?!!! Not to mention the fact that “40% carbohydrate, 30% protein, and 30% dietary fat” equals 100% and leaves no room for any other ingredients.

I’ll pass. Besides GNC is only 5 minutes away from me.

Where’s the nutrition information?

We’re in an evolution period in human nutrition right now. These bars were on the cutting edge 10 years ago, but contain too much questionable and unnatural ingredients to make it in today’s world. Yes, they taste pretty good, especially the Strawberry one, but High Fructose Corn Syrup in a protein bar? Come on now! Change the formulation to include low glycemic sweeteners like Agave Nectar, and this bar might be worthwhile.

I’ve been putting pure foods in my body for years, and these bars make me feel lousy. — Taste pretty good, but not healthy

These bars fit the 40/30/30 profile advocated by the Zone Diet. That means 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat. Note: These are not low fat! However, they’re pretty tasty, and I’ve gotten used to eating a strawberry yogurt bar every morning for breakfast. Much easier than a bowl of cereal or an egg sandwich. No dirty dishes! They’re surprisingly filling too. They help keep my diet structured, and I don’t feel deprived. Amazon subscriber’s price is about the same cost per bar as Walmart where I live. — 5 Stars for Health & Convenience

I’ve tried many different snack bars, looking for something with high protein, low carbs/calories. I tend to be a picky eater, so it took a long time to find strawberry zone bars, but from the first taste, I was hooked. I’ve never tired of them, which is really surprising, and it is a perfect “pick me up” when you want/need something to eat, don’t have time to make anything, and don’t want to eat rubbish. Perfect for that rushed lunch at the office, as I can have a yoghurt/fruit handy, and very filling. The yoghurt layer tastes like chocolate, which adds to the eating pleasure. BTW, it is always out of stock when I need to buy some, it’s the only slimfast bar that sells out as soon as it appears in CVS or Giant. Thank heavens for Amazon and prime shopping! — The tastiest diet bar I’ve ever found!

This is my favorite out of all of the zone bars. I enjoy the taste so much that I gladly eat one of these to tame my “snacking” urge as opposed to a candy bar, cookie, etc.

Great Taste – Healthy, quick snack
